Found in the Woods

Today, Remi and I were playing in the woods in our usual spot and we saw a baby deer! I did a really quick sketch before she ran away. Remi says I'm really good at drawing. And maybe I could be a real artist some day.

But my mom thinks I should go to medical school and become a doctor instead. She said we didn't come to this country so I could be a starving artist. And that I can always do it as a hobby. I don't want her to think I'm not grateful.

Remi said his dad is always yelling at him too. Like he's always saying he's going to send him to military school or to New York to live with his mom if he doesn't do better at school and stop making so much trouble. Remi always laughs and says he wouldn't mind moving to the City cause there's nothing to do here in the middle of nowhere anyway. But I don't know, I like the woods. It's quiet and peaceful and there are plenty of animals to draw.
